Summer July/August/September 2005

Welcome to the Kathy Spear Landscaping Newsletter.

This Newsletter was created to provide news, information and ideas on the ever-growing topic of Landscaping and Pond development. This Newsletter, updated Often, providing a quick and easy way for you to stay up to date and get the latest information wherever and whenever you need it.

HOT AND DRY AGAIN!

Meet Me At The Fair!!!

--I'll have a pond set up and running throughout the entire fair. Come and visit.  It's your chance to see how a pond really works. I'll be there everyday to answer your questions (actually to chit-chat most of the day!).

Midway Motor Lodge

--My crew and I have finished our projects at Midway Hotel. Hotel maintenance people are watering the new plantings at Highway 20 and the
main entrance road.  We've also installed new brick seating areas outside the main lobby area. Pictures to come soon!

Murray Dental Building on Asbury

--Our work has begun; we've installed a few plants.  We're waiting for irrigation to be installed. Check out our progress over the next few days.

New Jobs and Beating The Heat:

--Pruning, maintenance, walls, ponds, and even installations continue.  Even with this heat!  New installation clients must to be available to water during this hot spell.  My guys and I use water, Gatorade, and just about anything cold to get through the days.  And we try to stop before it gets too hot and muggy.

Pond College

--Part of my crew and I spent most of last week learning from the best. Every July, Aquascape Designs (the best pond company around!) draws people from across the U.S. and Canada (even Europe) to these fact filled days. From hands on training, to open discussions, to professors and doctors, to business owners and leaders, every single hour is geared to giving us as much information as we can handle. We're ready to get back to our customer’s projects!  Really, we're ready to use some of this info on the next few pond jobs! It's so exciting to be able to draw on what we just talked about and put it into the next pond and waterfall!

Build A Pond Classes!

--Still in the works for this summer: Build A Pond Classes!

Yes, you can attend a class with Kathy and the crew and actually work on a real pond, start to finish. All the hands on you want!

We are collecting names. Sites and dates still pending.

Pond side classes at Kathy's

--Pond side classes still available at Kathy's. Usually held Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM. Kathy explains how a pond ecosystem works. Have problems with green water? Kathy has solutions.  Wondering if you really want a pond? Kathy can give you answers to these and many more questions.
